































This week we learned “the flying Scotsman” ceilidh dance. We had so much fun working with our partners and dancing with our teachers!
We worked really hard during our VCOP lesson, together we were able to find VCOP in our poem. This will help us in our writing next week.

What an exciting start to the term we have had!
We began learning about our new topic “Toys of the Past”. Take a look at us comparing toys that we play with now to toys from the past.
In PE we’ve been learning teamwork skills through dancing. We worked in pairs to create a dance sequence, we had lots of fun!
In literacy we began to learn what VCOP stands for (Vocabulary, connectives, openers and punctuation) we can now recognise VCOP in our sentences!

What a week it’s been in P2!
On Monday we celebrated the festive season with our Christmas party and watching the pantomime.
During the week we created some lovely Christmas cards and decorations for our friends and family, have a look at our amazing creations.
On Wednesday we used our own instructions to create some Christmas treats.
In RE we learned all about the nativity story, look at us sequencing the events of the story in order.

This week we showcased our nativity to the whole school, parents and carers ! We did a great job and we are all so proud of ourselves❤️
We met up with our buddies to exchange Christmas cards, take a look at some of the cards we made.
To consolidate our addition and subtraction knowledge we completed some outdoor learning in our forest using natural materials to help us complete our questions.

This week in P2 we have been learning how to read weigh scales, measure capacity and measure height. Take a look at us measuring the weight and height of things all around our classroom.
Today we celebrated St Andrews Day by wearing tartan and creating pictures of the saltire and thistle. Take a look at some of our creations!
Continuing on with our instructional writing topic, this week we had to write instructions about how to build snowmen, we practiced this in our play before writing in our jotters.

Book week
To celebrate book week Scotland we took a trip to balgreen library. We learned all about the different types of books and where to find them. We also git the chance to go on a bear hunt! Take a look.
Topic
This week in topics we learned all about Brazilian samba music. We all had a chance to create a tune with some instruments.

Shape
This week we have been learning lots about 3D shape. We can recognise corners, edges and faces. We had fun playing with and creating 3D shapes .
Topic
South America was our focus this week in topic. We created art pieces of Tucans living in the Amazon rainforest.
Writing
It was P2s mission to get a little boy home safely from space, we wrote instructions to help him.











Outdoor learning
This week we had a visit from #thegreenteam where we took our topic learning outside and made continents out of rope, we added animals and wether to our creations using natural materials.
Topic
This week we learned all about Antarctica. We spoke about how cold it is in Antarctica, the animals and made igloo art pieces.
Writing
We have started our instructional writing block, take a look at some of the instructions we have been writing in our play.

Our topic in P2 this term is “All Around the World” over the last two weeks we have been focusing on on Europe. On Tuesday we visited France and created the Eiffel Tower, take a look at some of our pictures.

On Monday we created puppets to help us practice our Spanish. We had great conversations practicing greetings with our fellow puppet friends!
