The start of May in P3 💐🌻

P3 were excited to get back in touch with their digital learning this week and enjoyed consolidating their numeracy knowledge on Sumdog targeted to their individual next steps!

They have also been learning about Mary – our mother, and why and how people celebrate Mary in May. P3 and P4 worked together to create symmetrical mandala’s outdoors linking their numeracy, RE and outdoor learning together. #Article14 – The right to thoughts and religion

P3 also enjoyed their second singing session with NYCOS learning different songs to learn pulse and beat! #Article15 – The right to join groups

Finally we ended the week with an online assembly to allow all learners to see each other and celebrate their successes of the week!

P3 fractions, novels and PE!

P3 started their fractions topic this week. They learnt what parts and wholes are, how to write fractions and began identifying 1/2 of different things. #Article28 – The right to education.

P3 also started their first class novel series “Flat Stanley” and created some stunning front covers! We also enjoyed the sunshine and practised for sports day during PE.

Finally, P3 had their first session from NYCOS (The national youth choir of Scotland) where they found their singing voices and enjoying discussing different beats and pulses.

P3 Easter fun

P3 had a very enjoyable last week of term at St Peter’s Primary School. They attended an opera show in the hall and a lovely service for Holy Thursday. #Article28 – The right to Education.

P3 also let their creativity shine during some Easter art and crafts this week. We focussed on using lines and patterns to create contrasting Easter rabbits with water colours and then some super funky Easter eggs. 🐣🥚

P3 resilience !

P3 have been super resilient this week and have worked extremely hard during the current circumstances !

We recapped VCOP this week and looked at using different openers to write instructions. Learners wrote instructions to get from St Cuthberts Primary school to St Peter’s Primary school using different openers then drew pictures to match their instructions. Artice28 – The right to Education.

P3 St Patrick’s Day and outdoor learning ☘️☀️🌤️

P3 started their week by learning different landmarks around the world as part of their class topic! We looked at landmarks like The Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Taj Mahal in India. #Article28 – The right to Education

On Tuesday, P3 celebrated St Patrick’s day by dressing in green, learning about St Patrick and why we celebrate this day each year. They then created finger painted shamrocks and drew funky St Patrick’s chicks 🐥☘️#Article14 -The right to freedom of thought and religion.

P3 also made the most of the Spring sunshine and consolidated their knowledge of position and direction. They drew grids on the playground then documented the directions to get to certain points using the language “Left, Right, Up, down, forwards and backwards” ☀️🌤️

Busy busy week in P3 🐝🐝🐝

P3 have been learning about their emotions and the zones of regulation. We displayed new posters and resources to help us talk about what zone we are in. P3 then drew “inside out” characters to represent each zone and labelled them with what they can do when feeling each zone. #Article13 – The right to share thoughts freely.

P3 also started their new topic – “All around the world” and looked at different Countries languages and flags from around the world. #Article2 – The right to no discrimination.

Finally – P3 learners worried super hard preparing for their first sacrament of Reconciliations this week. A huge well done to all involved. #Article14 – The right of thought and religion.

P3 world book day!

P3 had a fabulous World book day! They started by participating in “The great big world book day footy and booky quiz” featuring questions from some famous footballers!

They then enjoyed the costume parade followed by creating bookmarks and sharing our favourite books with friends.

P3 published illustrators!

In term 1 primary 3 entered a ‘Monster Mayhem’ drawing competition as part of the young writers competitions. P3 used their imagination and creativity skills to draw a monster of their choice and name them using an alliteration, linking to their class learning.

These drawings were so great that they all got published into the Monster Mayhem book. 

A special well done to Ellis in P3 who’s picture was chosen as their favourite and now features on the front cover! Ellis was gifted a £10 national book token and is now a finalist with a chance of winning the overall prize – An awesome den making set!

P3 Class assembly

P3 performed an amazing class assembly on their topic “Habitats” this week. They all worked extremely hard to learn their scripts, display their artwork and learning. This resulted in a very enjoyable class assembly.

Due to working hard and showing great focus on their class assembly, P3 were awarded class of the week and enjoyed ending the week with biscuits and juice! Keep up the hard work P3 Miss Tulloch is so proud ⭐️⭐️⭐️

P3 digital learning

P3 have been working extremely hard for their class assembly next week! They have made posters, been practising their scripts and making the assembly PowerPoint!

This activity included using safari, screenshotting and cropping pictures and adding text. All activities required the learners to work together and develop their team work skills. #Article28
