P3 worked hard to learn how to tell the time this term. They can now tell the time to O’clock, half past, quarter to, quarter past and to and past the hour. #Article28 – The right to education.
We also used stop watches to time ourselves and our friends doing different activities and compared these to our estimations.

P3 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the Edinburgh Playhouse to see Bluey. We have used Bluey throughout the year to support our health and wellbeing learning. #Article24 – The right to health and wellbeing.
For many of P3 this was their first time visiting Edinburgh town and going to a show in the Playhouse!
We them enjoyed a nature walk through Bruntsfield links and ended our day with a cheeky play in the park. Definitely well deserved after walking over 10,000 steps!! #Article31 – the right to rest and play.

This week P3 looked at the different temperatures different countries of their interest have in summer. They then used their research to create a bar graph to show their findings. #Article28 – The right to Education.
They also developed on their team work and created a collaborative summer art piece! Everyone was super impressed with the final outcome!

P3 have been working hard on their imaginative space story and loved creating their own planets to write about.
They used paper mache, paint and their amazing creativity and imagination to create their very own, unique planets.
P3 also started their mini topic of “summer” and created posters of what we think of when we think about summer.
Finally, we had our last music/singing session with NYCOS. P3 loved getting active with music and different instruments (especially the drum sticks!!)

P3 continued their imaginative stories this week using their knowledge of adjectives and commas to list planets they seen in space.
We also all loved participating in sports day at St Augustine’s High School. P3 showed resilience, teamwork and determination! Well done ✨ #Article24 – The right to be healthy.

P3 have been working hard on their imaginative space stories linking with our class novel “Flat Stanley in space”.
They have also started using paper mache to create their own planets that they’ll visit and describe in their stories!!
P3 have also enjoyed developing their digital and creativity skills using the iPads to draw and play with friends.

P3 were excited to get back in touch with their digital learning this week and enjoyed consolidating their numeracy knowledge on Sumdog targeted to their individual next steps!
They have also been learning about Mary – our mother, and why and how people celebrate Mary in May. P3 and P4 worked together to create symmetrical mandala’s outdoors linking their numeracy, RE and outdoor learning together. #Article14 – The right to thoughts and religion
P3 also enjoyed their second singing session with NYCOS learning different songs to learn pulse and beat! #Article15 – The right to join groups
Finally we ended the week with an online assembly to allow all learners to see each other and celebrate their successes of the week!

P3 started their fractions topic this week. They learnt what parts and wholes are, how to write fractions and began identifying 1/2 of different things. #Article28 – The right to education.
P3 also started their first class novel series “Flat Stanley” and created some stunning front covers! We also enjoyed the sunshine and practised for sports day during PE.
Finally, P3 had their first session from NYCOS (The national youth choir of Scotland) where they found their singing voices and enjoying discussing different beats and pulses.

P3 had a very enjoyable last week of term at St Peter’s Primary School. They attended an opera show in the hall and a lovely service for Holy Thursday. #Article28 – The right to Education.
P3 also let their creativity shine during some Easter art and crafts this week. We focussed on using lines and patterns to create contrasting Easter rabbits with water colours and then some super funky Easter eggs. 🐣🥚
Have a wonderful Easter holiday⭐️
