On Tuesday P6 took part in the BBC live lesson on safe AI use. This was a great opportunity for us to learn how to responsibly use AI and its pros and cons. Well done P6, enjoy the February break!

This week P6 headed to Saughton park with the P7’s to practise their cross country running skills to prepare for the EPSA event happening on the 9th of February. Although the weather wasn’t in our favour they all did so well!

We also took part in a Health and Wellbeing lesson looking at “What makes a good friend”.

P6 won the healthy eating contest this month! Huge congrats to everyone who brought in healthy food to help us win! We celebrated with 5 minutes extra lunch and fruit.

Well done P6 let’s see if we can get another win next month!🍎🥗

This week P6 have extended their digital skills by finding information and using apps such as Stop Motion. We finished off our Stop Motion videos and will finish showing them off next week.

We also used our iPads to research historical figures for a health and wellbeing lesson. We found information on adversities these people have faced and how they overcame them.

Next week we will be looking at the photos app and all the tools we can use on it for this months digital app.

Well done to P6 for an amazing first week back after the holidays. We have started recount texts in writing and it was so great to hear all about what you got up to in the holidays. Multiplication and division in numeracy, and we continued work on our Europe topic. We also had a great lesson looking at stop motion and we had the opportunity to create stop motion videos in groups that will be shared to the rest of the class next week.

This week P6 took part in lots of fun festivities. We designed sustainable schools on Minecraft to go along with the Global Goals Advent Calendar. Took part in a Christmas version of Dragons Den where each group had to invent the next big Christmas toy. To top off the week we had our Christmas party on Thursday, the outfits were all amazing!

On Wednesday P6 had an amazing trip to the library. We explored the animal and dinosaur exhibits to tie up our topic on prehistory. We took part in the dinosaur trail and also had sometime to do some of our own investigations. This was a great trip and I hope all of P6 have enjoyed this topic. Well done⭐️

P6 have been enjoying their first full week with their iPads. This new resource has opened up so many new ways to enhance our learning. We used our iPads to create a keynote PowerPoint about the ups and downs of life for our “Be Resilient” topic in Health and Wellbeing. We will have lots more engaging lessons to come using the iPads! Keep up the good work P6!⭐️

P6 had an amazing time during book week Scotland. We read our buddies favourite book to them on Wednesday. We went for an amazing trip to the library on Thursday where we completed a scavenger hunt and looked through all the books. On Friday some of dressed up as our favourite book characters and discussed our favourite books. Well done everyone for an amazing week and keep up the reading!📖

A huge congratulations to P6 who performed amazingly in today’s remembrance and polish independence assembly. All the work and time you put in paid off! You should all be super proud of yourselves🤩 We won class of the week too and celebrated with biscuits and juice🎉
