P5 Dive into water safety

Our P5s made a splash in their final swimming lesson by learning vital water safety skills! They even wore pyjamas to experience how it feels to swim in clothes — a realistic and fun way to understand how to stay calm and safe if they ever fell into water. Brilliant effort from everyone! 👏

P6 Learning W/C 27 October

P6 ended the “Our Prehistoric World” topic this week. We finished this by looking at how we know about prehistoric animals as well as how Early Humans lived. We looked at Skara Brae, an ancient village found in Orkney and fossils that are discovered by palaeontologists. We then collected leaves from outside and created our own fossil rubbings, such like the ones that scientists may make of fossils.

Well done Primary 6, this has been a very interesting topic and you have all put your best efforts into it!

Celts jewellery

Primary 4 Celtic Creations!

Primary 4 have been taking part in some fantastic learning this week as part of our Celts topic! We explored how the Celts designed and crafted their shields, as well as the beautiful jewellery they wore to show status and identity.

After carrying out our research, we used what we learned to design and create our own shields and Celtic-inspired jewellery. The children showed amazing creativity and enthusiasm—don’t they look brilliant?

We can’t wait to add our finished pieces to our display next week!

P2 learning all about the world and languages!

Our topic in P2 this term is “All Around the World” over the last two weeks we have been focusing on on Europe. On Tuesday we visited France and created the Eiffel Tower, take a look at some of our pictures.

I wonder where we will visit next🧐?

On Monday we created puppets to help us practice our Spanish. We had great conversations practicing greetings with our fellow puppet friends!

P4 Diwali

Primary 4 had a very positive start back after the October break!

We were especially engaged in our learning about Diwali, a festival celebrated by many people around the world, including Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains. We enjoyed creating bright and colourful Diwali art, tasting some of the common foods eaten during the festival, and even watching a special performance!

Well done to our P4 performers — we loved it!

P3 learning this week!

P3 loved celebrating Diwali this week, we looked at the story of Rama and Sita, created rangoli patterns and enjoyed an amazing dance performance. Pupils also participated in a Diwali party where they got to try traditional snacks and treats. #Article14 – The right to freedom of thought and religion.

P3 finished the week by welcoming Mr Brack into the classroom during their writing lesson. Pupils were learning to use verbs and adjectives to describe a setting. Mr Brack and Miss Tulloch were so impressed with the hard work and focus shown resulting in P3 winning Class of the week! 🎉⭐️
