P7 enjoyed the Big Dig WW2 Hut‑Building activity as part of one of their Maths Week Scotland lessons. It was a highly engaging, hands‑on task, with pupils excited to use real‑life materials to recreate mini huts. Working in groups encouraged negotiation, teamwork, and careful following of instructions, while experimenting with tessellation and right‑angle corners brought maths and history together in a fun, practical way.
