P3 had a fabulous day out at Swanston Farm today. As part of our class topic, the world of work around us – we visited Swanston farm to see what animals live there and the jobs of a local farmer #Article28 – The right to education.
The children got to meet highland cows, goats, chickens and horses on our tour of the working farm. The children worked hard to stay quiet and respectful around the animals to keep everyone safe and enjoyed hearing what jobs are involved in the animals care. #Article19 – The right to be safe.
We finished the tour by discussing some of the produce produced from farms, the benefits of a well balanced diet and supporting local farmers, this linked with our Health and wellbeing learning and our class topic! #Article24 – The right to be healthy #SDG15 – Life on land #SDG2 – Food security.
