Primary 4 have had an exhilarating week filled with learning, celebration and new experiences!
We have enjoyed learning about Black History Month, recognising and celebrating the achievements of inspirational Black individuals who have helped shape our history and continue to influence our world today. We discussed the importance of their contributions and how their actions have helped create a brighter future for generations to come.
We also had a visit to the Book Bus, where everyone had the exciting opportunity to choose a brand-new book to enjoy during their independent reading time.
This week, we have also been developing our understanding of our four new Meta-skills: Initiative, Focusing, Integrity and Adapting. The class have worked together to create a display, featuring child-friendly definitions to help us understand what each skill looks like in practice. We have loved spotting these skills being demonstrated across the curriculum and awarding house points to celebrate those who put them into action. We are becoming increasingly confident at recognising and demonstrating the skills that will help us succeed both in and beyond the classroom!
Finally, we ended our week by celebrating Diwali, sharing in the festivities and traditions of our Hindu community. A huge well done to all of the performers – we thought you were absolutely fantastic! We were delighted that you shared such a special celebration with us and gave us the opportunity to learn more about this wonderful festival. To continue the celebrations, the class enjoyed delicious vegetable samosas and milk cake together in the classroom. What a lovely way to end our week!
